>> INFORMATION AND TIPS FOR SENDING YOUR ENTRIES TO iF
All entries and their transport packaging must be clearly labeled with the entry-ID and category number. If your shipment contains more than one entry, all entry-IDs must be listed on the outside of the packaging. You can either download a shipping label for each entry in your entry overview or download a blank one and fill in the data yourself.
Entries can be shipped by any courier or forwarding company to the address named above. All costs must be pre-paid by the sender and the shipment must arrive free of charge for iF. iF will refuse to accept entries for which iF has to pay anything. Shipments which are free of costs for the recipients are called “delivery duty paid” or “ddp”. Ask your shipping company to send your entries with this method.
Entries must be delivered pre-assembled or registered for self-assembly. You will find more details on self-assembly below in section “Self-assembly and motor vehicles”. If we have to assemble your entry, we may charge you an additional fee of EUR 100 per hour.
Discipline Communication and Packaging
In these disciplines, entries will not be returned unless you specifically request the return on tab “Logistics” in the registration form. You have to pay all shipping fees relating the return of the entries. iF will charge you a handling and storage fee of EUR 30 (plus VAT) per entry which should be returned.
If you send something into the EU you will need an EORI number
The EORI number is an identification number for companies which would like to send something into the EU.
If you do not have an EORI number, custom clearance is not possible and your entries will be stopped by German customs. Neither iF nor DHL Trade Fairs & Events can give you their EORI number, because they are not the official importer.
You should check whether your company already has an EORI number.
If not, please apply for an EORI number 3 weeks before shipment at the German customs:
>> REQUEST AN EORI NUMBER
The EORI number has to be applied for once only and can be used again for shipment of products to EU countries.
Each shipment from Non-EU countries must have the following documents:
You can use our online form to create a proforma invoice. >> Download Proforma Invoice
Your entry may be damaged in shipping or assembly. iF cannot insure entries, and we recommend that you acquire insurance for each of the entries you submit.
You should check if your own company already has transport and exhibition insurance. If not, iF recommends the following insurance company:
Landschaftliche Brandkasse Hannover
Ms. Ilona Reineke
Phone +49.511.3622796
Fax +49.511.3623393
iF does not do any assembly of entries. If an entry needs to be assembled, you can come directly to the jury hall in Hamburg, Germany and assemble it. You will also have to come again to disassemble the entry after the jury session. This process is called self-assembly.
Please remind: If you choose self-assembly for an entry, you can not send it to the warehouse of DHL Trade Fairs & Events. You will have to bring it yourself to the jury hall on the self-assembly dates.
As the space in the jury hall is limited, you have to apply for self-assembly. To do this, please click the box for self-assembly on tab “Logistics” in the online registration from. The deadline to apply for self-assembly is 1 December 2019.
iF will decide whether or not you will be allowed to set up the entry yourself in the jury hall. Therefore, please send a sketch/drawing with the measurements of the product and the required floor space and height via email to service@ifdesign.de.
Small products (table presentation) are not allowed for self-assembly.
